We’re proud to introduce our passionate owners Thomas and Harvinder Coats who share a deep love for the Kiwitahi school, community and the values of rural life.

Harvinder brings over 15 years of experience in early childhood education and is committed to creating a nurturing, supportive environment where children can truly thrive. Together with a handpicked team of passionate educators, she ensures that every child is given the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace.

Harvinder, originally from overseas, has always had a love for nature and the unique qualities that small-town living offers.

Raised in Okoroire, Thomas has an appreciation for the values of farm life and the close-knit nature of rural living. With hands-on experience in farming, he understands the importance of hard work, community, and a strong connection to the land. Thomas is an active member of Kiwitahi school board, where he brings valuable insights and a commitment to supporting educational growth in our community.

With extensive expertise in business, Thomas combines his passion for rural life with a practical approach to leadership and management. His broad skill set ensures that our Early Childhood Centre is not only nurturing and educational but also runs efficiently and effectively.

Harvinder and Thomas’s two children attend Kiwitahi School, and this connection to the local community is something they are incredibly passionate about, especially when it comes to supporting families on their educational journeys.

Their mission is to provide a safe, engaging, and fun environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and develop at their own pace. Through a balanced approach to learning that combines hands-on experiences, creativity, and community connection, they aim to inspire a lifelong love of learning in every child.
